In the recently released Agricultural Marketing and Farmer Friendly Reforms Index (AMFFFI) by NITI Aayog, Uttar Pradesh (U.P.) has clinched the second position, scoring an impressive 92 points.
Topping the chart was Andhra Pradesh with a score of 94. Mandi Parishad's Deputy Director, Sachin Kumar Singh, shared the rankings, emphasizing that U.P. has showcased substantial progress in implementing agricultural marketing reforms, fostering an environment conducive to agri-business within the state.
The evaluation was conducted based on 13 parameters, including direct agri-marketing, e-trading platform, single-point levy, single unified license, rationalization of market fees, rationalization of commission of aratiyas, e-NAM modules, and deregulation of fruits and vegetables.
Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, and Arunachal Pradesh also demonstrated commendable performance in these areas, outperforming other Indian states. Singh highlighted that U.P. has implemented a majority of the marketing reforms, establishing an excellent foundation for agricultural activities and business operations in the state.
